Foundation donates school bags, writing materials to C’River schools

The Joseph Ogogo Foundation has donated school bags, sandals and writing materials to no fewer than seven schools in Cross River State as part of its fourth intervention programme in 2026.

The donation took place at different schools in Obanliku Local Government Area of the state, as pupils received learning materials to support their education.

The Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Dr Austin Ogogo Jnr, while speaking during the distribution on Monday, said the gesture was aimed at easing the burden on parents and encouraging pupils to stay in school and focus on their studies as the new term progresses.

He said, “Education remains the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and building a stronger future for children and their communities, hence our decision to intervene directly in schools shortly after resumption.

“This gesture is to ease the burden on parents. This initiative is to encourage pupils to stay in school and focus on their studies as the new term begins.”

He said the distribution of school bags and writing materials formed part of the foundation’s broader efforts to promote learning, improve school attendance and contribute to sustainable development in rural communities.

“Impact is not just about what we say; it is about what we do together. We desire to build a legacy of service where every intervention leaves something meaningful behind for the people and generations yet to come.

“When we invest in a child’s education, we are not simply supporting a pupil today; we are helping to shape the strength, dignity and possibilities of an entire community tomorrow,” the founder said.

Dr Ogogo reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to sustaining its support for education and community development initiatives across Obanliku and Cross River State at large, stressing that every intervention was designed to leave a lasting impact.

“We place education at the centre of our intervention. Therefore, the distribution of school bags and writing materials comes at a crucial time when many pupils require basic learning items because every intervention is designed to leave a lasting impact,” Dr Ogogo stated.
